Evaluate 10 tech tools


Objectives:

  • To integrate technology into the unit plan you have developed.
  • Link specific tools to the unit plan for the teacher to use.
  • Link specific tools to the unit plan for the students to use.
  • To explain each tool as it is to be integrated into the unit plan.

Steps:

  1. List the technology tools you are integrating into the lesson below the unit plan you have completed.
  2. Create a new page for each tech tool so that each tool's explanation is on a separate page.
  3. Copy and paste the form found below to use as a template for each tool explanation.

Requirements:

  • You must complete a minimum of 10 separate tech tools. Use each tool only once.
  • The tools must be divided roughly equally between teacher or student use.
  • Complete the template found below on a separate page for each tool.

Part A. The tool

  1. Is this a teacher tool or a student tool?
  2. Name of the tool linked to the tool's home page:
  3. In a complete paragraph, explain:
  • the process for accessing and registering for the tool
  • how the tool works and what it does
  • what skills are necessary for the user

Part B. The teaching and learning. Try to incorporate Bloom's Taxonomy, new version and/or 21st Century Skills.

  1. In what way would the teacher or student use this tool in the unit? Full explanation required.
  2. Of what educational value is the tool? What would it replace in a traditionally taught lesson? How will this tool in this unit improve teaching and/or learning? This is the major part of the evaluation. One paragraph.
